Naturopathic Medicine

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic Medicine is a distinct health care system that combines modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine.  It embraces longstanding philosophies of medicine and new diagnostic tools to provide a broad non-invasive framework for diagnosis, assessment and treatment.

The naturopathic philosophy is to stimulate the healing power of the body. In order to do this you must identify and treat the underlying cause of disease. Symptoms are seen as warning signals of improper functioning of the body, and unfavorable lifestyle habits. Naturopathic Medicine emphasizes disease as an imbalance rather than as an entity.

Who can benefit from this treatment?

A complete treatment plan will be discussed. Depending on the patient’s individual needs, follow-up laboratory testing may be requested or ordered.  Follow-up visits are generally required within the first 6-8 weeks of a treatment plan and are 30-45 minutes in length. Further follow-up visits are usually every 3 months thereafter, however, every patient will be treated base on their specific needs.
