Behnaz Beigui is a Certified Functional Nutrition Counsellor (CFNC) with a passion for helping people rediscover their health and vitality and empower them on their healing journey. Her scope of practice is food intolerances and sensitivities, skin problems, gut infections including SIBO and SIFO that contribute to inflammatory conditions like Histamine Intolerance, IBS, and hormonal imbalances. She guides her clients to find the root of their concerns using a bio-individual, systems based and holistic approach. Lab testing, life-style modification, dietary interventions, supplements and herbal medicine are some of the foundational tools used in her practice to address her client’s concerns. She’s passionate about helping people reframe nutrition/diets and instead understand their physiology better by eating based on their unique needs. She finds her clients have the best results when there's a collaborative effort from their health-care team, and
as a practitioner she helps them find the right protocol to address their concerns. Curiosity, care, and compassion are at the core of her practice.
Behnaz pursued functional nutrition counselling at the Functional Nutrition Alliance, where she learnt a full body systems approach to health and the necessary tools that serve those who feel stuck on their healing journey. Behnaz’s approach is holistic, bioindividual and centred on finding the root cause of chronic and short term conditions. She loves to guide her clients to take their power back by educating them on their body’s unique physiology and history. Behnaz offers solutions that express repair and lasting change from the inside out. Through working with her clients and seeing their transformation as well as her own, she has seen and believes that our bodies are designed to heal when given the right nutrients, environments, consistent support, and conditions to thrive.
What is functional nutrition counselling?
It’s a holistic system’s based approach to looking at the body and its myriad of conditions throughout one’s timeline and history. Functional nutrition counselling aims to investigate and understand ailments, chronic or short, through the lens of epigenetics, which encompasses an examination of one’s lifestyle, dietary needs, deficiencies, microbiome (gut infections and dysbiosis), emotional and physical stress, environment, history, and their story. Through functional nutrition counselling, we get to look for the root of a chronic or short term condition, and find long-term and lasting solutions.
