LDA Immunotherapy

LDA Immunotherapy

What is LDA?

Low Dose Enzyme Activated Immunotherapy, or LDA Immunotherapy for short, is a unique method of restoring balance to an over-active immune system. Low dose allergens, including environmental inhalants, foods, chemicals, and bacteria, are injected just under the surface of the skin. This low dose exposure, signals your body to produce protective white blood cells that keep your immune system from overreacting when these allergens are encountered in everyday life.

Who can benefit from LDA?

Overreactive immune responses can be involved in many conditions, whether the sole cause or a contributing factor. Patients with the following conditions may benefit from LDA Immunotherapy:

  • Allergies
  • Seasonal allergies
  • Food allergies, intolerances and sensitivities
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Chrohn’s Disease
  • Ulcerative Colitis
  • Asthma
  • Eczema
  • Migraines
  • Headaches
  • Urticaria
  • Arthritis
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Chronic sinusitis
  • Frequent infections
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Multiple Chemical Sensitivity
  • ADHD
  • Autism

Why is it beneficial?

LDA immunotherapy is not only a safe and effective method of reducing allergic responses but it can also produce long-lasting results. While results are variable as every patient is unique, patients can expect to experience symptomatic relief and improvements to overall quality of life. LDA immunotherapy helps give control back to patients who’ve been at the mercy of allergens that they may or may not have known were negatively affecting them.

Administration Expectations

For the first 6-8 treatments, patients can expect appointments every 2 months. After this time, patients can go longer between treatments. At each appointment, patients will receive 2 small injections under the surface of the forearm skin. Typically, treatment will last 16-18 months as this gives the patient enough exposure and time to retrain the immune system.
